Cold Weather Alert - Level 3 (Take Action)

The Met Office has issued a LEVEL THREE cold weather alert affecting the Berkshire area between:

  • 1500 on Wednesday 8 February and
  • 0900 on Monday 13 February 2017

A level three alert means everyone should TAKE ACTION because:

  • There 90% chance that average daily temperature is likely to be around or fall below 2 degrees Celsius for atleast 48 hours

This alert is for all people in the area but will be particularly relevant to people who:

  • Have a long term health condition
  • Are over the age of 65
  • Have a disability
  • Are on a lower income

Be aware that it is likely that:

  • there will be a low daytime temperatures and sharp frost overnight
  • scattered light sleet and snow showers
  • significant wind chill developing as easterly winds strengthen
